Abstract

Ten complete specimens of Frillagalma vityazi Daniel, 1966 (Siphonophorae, Agalmatidae) were collected by the submersibles Johnson-Sea-Link I and II. These have allowed a more detailed description of the species to be made, as it was previously known only by its ill-preserved nectophores and one type of its bracts. The taxonomic status of the species is discussed. In addition much material has been identified from the Discovery collections, and the distribution of the species in the North Atlantic Ocean is considered.
