FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition as Active Data Provider

2026-01-23

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), with the aim of publicly recognizing institutions that work to disseminate the valuable scientific information they produce in Open Access, has awarded its “Seal of Recognition as Active Data Provider of the Year 2026” to the journal Scientia Marina published by Editorial CSIC.

This distinction, awarded “in recognition of its valuable data contributions throughout 2025,” is highly significant given the institution that awards it and is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and with the role of “data provider” which, within the framework of the European Union's Open Science initiative, is becoming increasingly important for scientific publications.
